Want your picture on the cover of the "Rollin’ Stone"?

Would getting your Covenant Group’s picture on the cover of a Skinner House book be a close second for you, as wishes go? If so, you may be in luck.

Skinner House, our UUA in-house publishing company, needs a good picture of a Covenant Group in session or performing service for their church or community, and they need it soon.

Please send any photos you have in print form to me at: 1406 Brookside Drive, Norman, OK 73072. I can scan them into bits and bytes.

If you have a picture in email-able form, please send that to me at bhill@uua.org with a copy to mbenard@uua.org.

In either case, please include permission for your photo’s use as cover art for the Covenant Group book Skinner House expects to have available in June at the General Assembly in Boston.

"A Complete Guide to Small Group Ministry: Saving the World Ten at a Time" is the projected title of the paperback version of the book I wrote and my Southwest District published earlier on CD.

The CD remains available at www.swuuc.org (see the "Programs" section) or through the UUA Book Store, but sales of this version will stop as soon as the paperback version becomes available.

As requested by Mary Benard at Skinner House, my editor, I’ve cut the 12 chapters of the CD version to nine for the book. The result, I believe, is a significant improvement. I guess what I’ve often heard is true: the secret of writing is rewriting.

Fewer sample Covenant Group documents will be included, however, in the paper version. So, you may want to get the remaining CDs while you can.

And please accept my thanks, all of you who, with your questions, your interest, and your contributions to the Covenant Group discussions over the last four or five years, have made possible an incredibly fast spread of this grassroots movement. Our churches and fellowships, I believe, are better places as a result and will be for years to come. Thanks.

And now this one more request: a picture of you and your group in action, even if it’s just verbal action. You can stand a touch of fame, can’t you? A small touch?

-- Bob

P.S. For regular mail orders of the CD, send your check or money order along with your mailing address, to:
